The mission of the North Georgia Conference’s United Methodist Committee on Scouting (UMCOS) is to promote Duty-to-God to the youth of North Georgia through various youth organizations The United Methodist Church supports. This includes the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Big Brothers/ Big Sisters organizations around the Conference.

We provide support in various ways including helping congregations start a pack or troop, coaching congregation’s Scout Coordinators on ways to grow their programs and training scout leaders on how to build “Duty to God” into their programs. This committee is a resource for the Scout Leaders, Lay Leaders, Ministers and even parents of scouts in the Conference.
